Glass is typically used as an alternative to metal
for plaques, although it is increasingly being used in general signage
as a modern-looking surface on to which to apply graphics, for
example as high class building directories.
Of course glass most often comes in the form of a
shop front window on to which vinyl can be applied to make up graphics
to complement the main sign overhead, or even as the main sign itself
where circumstances prevent an external sign being used.
