The vast majority of our signs are manufactured at
our facility in Edinburgh. Our team has many years' experience
in producing well-made signs and it's frequently the case that the
same person who makes the sign installs it as well, thus ensuring
that the requisite care and attention is taken and allowing us to
take pride in a job well done.
Different signs require different stages of manufacture.
Large areas of colour may be directly painted on to the sign, whereas
smaller areas may be generated by computer and produced on vinyl.
Some signs are unusual shapes or require borders, or perhaps the
whole sign may be mounted on stand-offs from its background.
Signs such as agency boards are used in quantity so it makes sense to screen print them in batches so that the specific lettering can be applied separately later on.
Other signs may be so huge that they take up much of the area of our factory while they are being made, before they're broken down into sections again for installation on site.
Because the world of possibilities for different
formats is so large it would be impossible to be able to manufacture
every kind of sign under one roof, so we maintain healthy relationships
with specialist suppliers for more exotic signs such as neon or
3D stainless steel, to name but two.
Whether your sign is manufactured entirely in-house,
or parts of it are produced by specialist suppliers, you can be
sure that it will be subject to the high standards of quality
and workmanship you have come to expect from Baillie Signs.
