A plaque is the traditional way of marking a special
event or achievement and this is reflected in solid, craftsman-like
build quality and use of metals such as stainless steel and plated
brass. As well as marking events, plaques are also traditionally
used as signs for the "professionals" such as solicitors,
dentists, doctors, accountants and so on.
More modern varieties of plaque eschew traditional
materials and opt instead for glass or crystal, or even stone such
as marble, and where appropriate may feature a large image of the
sport or event being comemorated.
Plaques may be etched, printed or engraved, and the
decorative surface may be raised off the back plinth or mounted
directly on to it.
Plaques used as trophies often incorporate a space
around or underneath the central design to allow winners' names
to be engraved on name plates or mini-plaques.
Whether you wish to mark the opening of a building,
winning a snooker tournament or rewarding excellent sales figures,
a plaque fits the bill.
